{some scenes from my sister’s farm at christmas and traveling to and fro}
So much swirling around in my world. All heart stuff. Nothing flashy. Just really simplifying my life and what I am surrounding myself with. I am off to northern california yet again tomorrow for a few days. Our first family therapy session. Hold us in your hearts. I am scared, excited, nervous, oh so many things. This is good, so good…a very long process beginning now. I surrender to it all. Everybody just wants love and to be loved good.
More soon.

I looooove Cedar’s wolf hat — I wonder if they make adult sizes? Also, how lucky for him to have access to DD’s gorgeous farm…. I love going to her blog and soaking in pictures of how peaceful and dreamy it all seems
If you have a moment (any moment, even a moment in a day, week, or month) I am seriously considering moving to Bellingham. I have fallen in love with this town (I’ve been obsessing over WA for quite some time now) and the sense of community and connection to nature seems to fit perfectly with the path I am longing for. I’ll be coming from Virginia for a fresh start… do you think it will be difficult to find a small house to rent with two girlfriends, and i’m a social worker… is there a bigger town nearby where I would be able to find a steady job?
you bring so much hope into my life, Denise! xx, kara

best wishes to you and your family for healing, happiness and love always.
and, may i add … your statement here in your blog about going to family therapy will surely help other people view therapy as a good thing to do – be honest and kind, face whatever problems there may be and grow. thank you for helping to lift the stigmas from therapy.

Even though I am surrounded by so much beauty in my life right now, (blessed with a dreamy nanny job in Australia for a wonderful family with two little boys. Currently on an expenses paid vacation-even though I’m taking care of the boys it certainly qualifies as a very vacationy time-in Perth), your words and photographs make my days that much more bright. <3 I know your family therapy sessions will be well worth it! Good on you and your man for having the bravery and willingness to step forward together in this way. <3

I have met with a therapist on my own for 3-4 years and the experience has been very liberating and life affirming. As many of us, I have had to deal with so many family issues, I continue to explore them, deal with them and breath life and love into them. I can only imagine how much healing family therapy will bring to you and your loved ones. You are so very fortunate to have family members that are open and willing to talk about what is deep in their hearts. Wishing you much peace during your healing journey.
