Inspired by the beautiful Amanda, the five of us sat around the table on Christmas Eve and created our own Gratitude Garland. Each of us had gathered beauty from the earth to paint, draw and write on. We wrote what we feel grateful for. Boho Brother stayed up the latest layering found objects with his unique arty style. The next morning I woke up to Boho Brother and Omi hanging it on the porch of the beach house.
Mmmmm…so magical. I think I will take it home and hang it in our house to remind me how much being grateful for even the smallest of things, can shift your heart.
So many more images to share but here is one of our most cherished that we continue to gaze at with hearts swollen with love.

{People always ask me what Cedar is wearing, so I think I will start doing that at the end of my posts. ; ) Hat is from Baby Gap. Handmade crocheted scarf made by Cedar’s Auntie Pammie, branch shirt by Kicky Pants}

Yum. Your collaborative garland is so beautiful. I love the story of you all gathering treasures from your beach time to create this and Boho brother staying up late to create. You and Amanda have inspired us to make one of our gratitude garland to bring in the New Year while we give thanks to this one. Love you my magical friend. Happy Holidays. xo

Love it! Will you tell me what Hipsta film and lens you used on the last picture of Cedar? I LOVE that combo!

Just found you via..via..via… You know how it goes. Your life and your story and your precious family – all are so beautiful. I too experienced the ache of infertility that ended with an almond-eyed baby who found us, followed in quick succession by two more babes. Looking back, I couldn’t have planned it all any better myself. I couldn’t have imagined a family more perfect that my own.
Thank you for sharing your life here. I am sure to return!

what a beautiful idea, the gratitude garland. Gratitude, that’s been oozing out of my pours the last two weeks. It makes life so rich and full. My world has completely turned upside down since I started realizing what I “have” rather than what I didn’t. Love your images, love your little boy..sweet sweet sweet!

My husband and I are inspired to do a gratitude garland of our own next year as our Advent calendar – thank you so much for the idea!!!
December 28, 2010
This is cool! One year my family decorated squares of fabric with fabric pens and made a wall hanging.
December 28, 2010
i love the gratitude garland idea.

Mmmm…. I’m inspired to make this our “activity” for tomorrow! My family and I are all recovering from a serious respiratory flu and our Christmas has been very quiet and centred around getting healthy. A gratitude garland sounds like the perfect thing to do while we’re cloistered indoors waiting to feel like ourselves again.

if i were walking past that beach house and saw this hanging on the porch, i would want to knock on the door and hug the beautiful people inside.

I just love your garland! So free spirited!

I LOVE the idea! So beautiful.
And I know this is an odd question since I have never commented on your blog before, but what kind of camera do you use to get that film effect? or is it photoshoped? sorry I have been wondering!
