My boho boys reading together is part of our bedtime ritual. Last week, Cedar took it upon himself to start turning the pages, which blew me away. I mean, I am a new momma and am not about comparing milestones, so I have no idea if this is genius or normal but I find it so cute that he is doing this at 10 months.
Boho Boy is reading him Little Pea…a sweet gift from his Fairy Godmother.

this is so cute! heehee..

so cute!!! i do think i remember my kids doing this at a similar age, but don't ask me if it was 10 months! this mama brain can't remember
.
what does strike me, is boho boy saying, "thank you". this is so important! i started using my manners around the kids at that age, and by the time they learned to talk, they were also using manners b/c it was "normal". my daughter (7) has kind of slid on them a tad, but my son is so incredibly polite it floors me. always saying, "may i", "please", "thank you", holds the door open for people..and he's 6! So, keep it up!!!
ps…i love that you always seem to have music going on in the background. i must get into that habit, b/c it always lifts my spirits when i do.

This reminds me so much of how Cean and Ayden used to have their father/son time at night when Ayden was still a little guy…and it just warmed my heart. And I think the turning of the pages is absolutely genius. Seeing our little people develop is magic.

Adorable. I think it's normal at that age, but that doesn't take away from the MMMmmm MMMMmmm-iness! What I love is how he's laying there holding his feet. I think it lasted about 4-5 months with my daughter, but EVERY time I saw it I squealed and munched on her little toesies! He's makin' me wanna munch!

Aww. Thank you for sending a little sweetness my way!

Aw! that is so adorable! My 9 {almost ten} month old is not turning pages… he's brother and sister were never page turners.. just rippers *lol* I vote for genius. My littlest is walking though.. he's always been very determined. he was sitting at 5 months, crawling at 6 months, and walking at 7 it seems like he was never small
oh and he said "car" yesterday. It's all so sad and amazing at the same time.

the video is so cute!
i wanted to let you know that i've included a link to your blog in my post today. i hope that is alright with you!
thanks!

super cute!
I would say this is normal if you've been reading to him this way every night–or at least, consistently. My kiddos did the same and it was always so wonderful. Like they were truly participating.
((hugs))

its totally not normal at this age. most kids under one
(and even after) just rip paper pages! great job cedar! totally advanced!

I love it! How wonderful that your boys have this time together every day. I agree with what Erin said above, that it is very cool how Boho Boy says "thank you". What a delightful family you have.

oh so cute!! M is 10 months and doing that too, except for two seconds later she is trying to rip the book apart as well!!
October 1, 2009
Not only is your son to die for cute, but your husband saying 'thank you' when he turns the pages makes my eyes roll back into my head from the cuteness. and then, your son holding his bare baby feet….oy. so much cute.
October 1, 2009
No doubt, he's a genius.
This is one of our favorite books, too. My son totally cracks up when we get to the blech noises. Every time. (Which is roughly equivalent to 7,459 times a day!)
Your family is lovely. Enjoy!

October 2, 2009

this is soooo precious…i always love to read about your adorable little one.
October 2, 2009
sweet genius.
October 2, 2009
as a teacher I can't tell you how important this time is to strengthen Cedar's language. Their little minds are like sponges and the more you talk to your child the better they are prepared for education.
oh, you're such a good mommie!!
October 2, 2009
Looks like you have a little reader there!
Your boys are lovely.

October 2, 2009
that made my whole day, the sweetness, the cuteness! i remember my boy tearing up books at that age, far from turning pages was he!
October 2, 2009
He is so sweet. I feel so wonderful after reading your blog. I feel slightly addicted to it!
October 2, 2009
I love the "thank you" after each turn.
What a love! The both of them! The three of you!
October 2, 2009
So, so sweet!
October 2, 2009
awwww, so adorable! congrats mamma!
i love the way he holds his toes, like my little Chewie does…
October 2, 2009
My daughter was always a "hands-on" reader and loved (still loves at age 2) lift-the-flap board books. What a sweet video that is!
October 2, 2009
too sweet for words. Not only is is page-turning ability amazing, but so is his ability to listen to the story. You have a reader on your hands. Yesterday my 5 year old read to me for the first time and it truly was something that I will remember forever. It was amazing.
October 2, 2009
How awesome!!! Very heart-warming.
(It is so very obvious how comfortable boho boy is as a Dad. I guess I never really thought about him coming into his own with his new role. This video into your life makes it so very apparent how awesomely wonderful he is as a Dad!)
October 3, 2009
This is SO precious!
What struck me the most, though is your sweet hubby saying "thank you" every single time! And when he just paused and waited on Cedar to do it himself… swooooon…
You have a blessed home, my sweet… and you deserve every single morsel.
October 3, 2009
Muchas gracias!! (: Thanks so much for researching this for me. (:

Amazingly cute! My neice is 14 months old and the things she does sometimes fascinate me. I'd love to get inside her head and see how she works it all out.
